Suan Son Beach lies just east of Ban Phe, the mainland port for Koh Samet ferries, facing a pine-shaded public arboretum. The coast road runs right beside the beach, with a few beach cafés along it, and resorts and holiday condos continue eastward along the shore. From here the road keeps close to the sea almost all the way to Laem Mae Phim.
