Ao Hin Khok is a small sandy bay on Koh Samet’s east coast, just south of Hat Sai Kaew and separated from it by a small rocky point with a mermaid statue. About half the length of its busy neighbour, it has a calmer feel, with guesthouses and beachfront restaurants behind the sand. Ao Phai is a short walk to the south. Entry to the island requires the national park fee.
