Ao Prao is the only sandy beach on Koh Samet’s west coast, a secluded bay of white sand and blue water known for its sunset views. Three upmarket resorts share the shore, giving it a quiet, unhurried feel. Boats run directly from Ban Phe, and by road the nearest east coast beach, Ao Phai, is about 1.5 km away. The island lies within a national park with an entrance fee.
