Ao Wai is a secluded bay on the southern part of Koh Samet’s east coast, about 800 m south of Ao Lung Dam. Trees shade its sandy beach, which keeps a strip of dry sand above the high-tide line, and coral patches lie off its northern end. A resort dominates the backshore, but access to the beach is not controlled. Like most of the island, it lies within a national park.
