About this beach
Ao Thian, also known as Candlelight Beach, lies just south of Ao Wong Duean on Koh Samet’s east coast. Rather than one continuous strand, it is a string of small sandy coves divided by rocky outcrops, backed by low-key bungalow resorts. It is one of the island’s quieter stretches, and its rocky shoreline offers some good diving spots.
