Smalleys Beach
Smalleys Beach lies on the Central Queensland coast within Cape Hillsborough National Park, about 50 kilometres north-west of Mackay. Conventional vehicles can reach the camping area via Cape Hillsborough Road and the gravel Smalleys Beach Road, with an easy walk from the shaded sites to the broad sandy shore. The setting suits a quiet picnic, beach stroll or fishing trip, and the camping area provides non-flush toilets and drinking water. Queensland Parks warns of crocodiles and marine stingers, so visitors should assess local conditions carefully before entering the water.
