Blacks Beach

Blacks Beach is a long sandy beach on Mackay’s Northern Beaches, about 15 minutes north of the city centre. Its shoreline is used for swimming, walking and beach fishing, with road access from Mackay Bucasia Road and entry points around Coral Drive and Bourke Street. Nearby Blacks Beach Park adds picnic tables, barbecues, play equipment and toilets, while the wider coastal unit supports migratory shorebirds, marine turtles and threatened beach-scrub habitat. The southern end meets McCreadys Creek, giving the coast a mix of open sand, tidal flats and wildlife-rich edges.
