About this beach
Mae Haad Beach lies on the northwestern side of Koh Phangan, where a natural sandbar extends from the shore toward the small island of Koh Ma. The sandbar creates a distinctive connection between the beach and the island, changing in prominence with the tide. The area is associated with Than Sadet–Ko Pha-ngan National Park, and coral reefs around Koh Ma support shore-based snorkelling.
