About this beach
Ban Khai Beach lies on the south coast of Koh Phangan between Ban Tai and the Haad Rin peninsula, about ten minutes from Haad Rin. The wide, very flat sandy shore faces Koh Samui across the strait, and at low tide much of it can be walked. Bungalow resorts and restaurants line the beach, and the village behind it is home to a small Muslim community with its own mosque.
