Haad Yuan is a sandy bay of roughly 300 m on the south-east coast of Koh Phangan, separated from Haad Rin by wooded hills. Longtail boats from Haad Rin take about 10–15 minutes, a jungle trail takes around 1.5 hours, and a rough 4x4 track also reaches the bay. A few bungalow resorts and restaurants back the beach. During the monsoon, rough seas can make the boat trip difficult.
