About this beach
Haad Yao is a long, wide sandy bay on Koh Phangan’s northwest coast, stretching north from Haad Son to a headland that shelters it. Resorts, restaurants and dive centres line the beach, and a live reef a few hundred metres offshore draws snorkellers. Facing west, it is known for its sunsets. At low tide the water can become very shallow, so take care around the reef.
