West Beach
West Beach is a compact sandy stretch on Port Phillip Bay in St Kilda, running for about 180 metres between the pier and the beachfront pavilion. Its low dunes contain scrub, grassland and saltmarsh, giving this urban shoreline notable coastal vegetation and a quieter natural character. Visitors use the beach for walking, sunbathing and water-based recreation, while West Beach Pavilion provides food and drink beside the sand. Check local conditions before entering the water, as bay weather and surface conditions can change.
