Altona Beach

Altona Beach is a broad sandy urban beach on the western shore of Port Phillip Bay, close to Melbourne’s western suburbs. Its foreshore esplanade supports walking, while the relatively calm bay setting is used for swimming, paddle boarding and other water activities. Around Altona Pier, visitors will find cafés, picnic areas, a playground and public toilets; shallow water and submerged objects make care important near the pier. The beach is close to Altona Station and the Hobsons Bay Coastal Trail.
