Birdie Beach

Birdie Beach is a broad, approximately four-kilometre sandy beach within Munmorah State Conservation Area. Its natural setting includes vegetated dunes, coastal heath, rugged cliffs and wide ocean views towards Bird Island. Access is through Birdie Beach Drive, and the conservation area supports swimming, snorkelling, rockpool exploration, fishing and coastal walks. The northern section is locally known as Red Ochre Beach and has a long-established nude-bathing use. This is an unpatrolled coastal setting, so changing surf and water conditions deserve particular caution.
