About this beach

Sunrise Beach, also called Hat Chao Ley, is a long stretch of white sand along Koh Lipe’s east coast, facing the morning sun, with the hills of Koh Adang visible to the north. The Urak Lawoi (Chao Ley) village, the island’s school and hospital sit along it with resorts, dive centres and small restaurants. Coral near the shore allows snorkelling from the beach, and the bay is more sheltered in the monsoon season.
