About this beach
Sam Roi Yot Beach, also called Hat Nom Sao, is a quiet shore of about 7 km shaded by casuarina pines. The water is shallow and not very clear, as mud mixes with the sand in places, and many shells wash up along the beach. Islands such as Koh Nom Sao, Koh Rawing and Koh Rawang lie in view, and boat trips to them for snorkelling can be arranged. Resorts line the beach.
