Pak Hat, about 8 km by road east of Chumphon town, is the beach closest to it. Locals come to the village's coastal road in the evening for its food stalls, and fishing boats tie up at the pier. Rocks edge the shore beside the road, while sandbanks emerge as the tide drops. Khao Matsi rises to the south and mangroves fringe the north end; the nearby Chumphon river mouth usually leaves the water murky.
