About this beach
Koh Tan’s long east-side beach faces a fringing coral reef that runs parallel to the shore and draws snorkellers. The thinly populated island lies about 5 km south of Koh Samui and is reached by boat, usually from Thong Krut, while its west side is an enclosed bay with mangroves and a rocky shore. A few small bungalows can still be rented, and the island is known for having no dogs.
