Bophut Beach is a long strip of fine, pale sand fringed by coconut palms on Koh Samui’s north coast. Its eastern part is home to Fisherman’s Village, one of the island’s oldest fishing communities, known for old Chinese shophouses, restaurants and a walking street held one evening a week. The western stretch deepens quickly, the eastern end is shallow, and the water is often murky, especially in December.
