Hua Thanon Beach is a narrow strip of about 1.5 km on Koh Samui’s south-east coast, running from the red Wat Ratchathammaram temple south-west to the Muslim fishing village of Hua Thanon, where boats and fishing gear line the shore. Fine grey sand is mixed with large pebbles, the ring road runs close behind and the water is shallow in places. The village has a market, and a giant Guan Yu statue stands nearby.
