Hat Yao is a long, wide sandy beach in Kantang district, Trang, stretching north from a rocky hill shaped like a shark’s fin. Casuarina trees line the back of the beach, which has room for camping, and there is private accommodation nearby. Further north the sand continues as Hat Yong Ling, and boats can be hired at Hat Yao for trips to the offshore islands.
