Black Sand Beach is an unusual stretch of dark sand on the mainland coast just east of Laem Ngop town, fronting the Laem Makham mangrove forest. A walking trail from a mangrove nature centre leads through the trees to the shore, where the broad black-sand flat is best seen at low tide. Locals traditionally bury themselves in the sand as a folk remedy. A visit here is more a nature walk than a beach day.
