Ao Karang is a small bay on the south-east of Koh Chang, facing Salak Phet Bay beyond the hamlet of Ban Jek Bae, where the road from Salak Kok ends. Coconut palms line the shore, with views across the sweeping bay to high hills behind. Few visitors come here, so it stays quiet; a short track leads down from the end of the road, and the beach lies in front of a small resort.
