Bang Ben Beach is a long, wide stretch of fine sand on the mainland coast south of Ranong, shaded by natural casuarina forest and home to the headquarters of Laem Son National Park. Offshore islands such as Ko Khang Khao and the Ko Kam group can be seen from the shore, and boats to them leave from here. The area is rich in birdlife; during the southwest monsoon the sea can become rough.
