About this beach

Ao Yai, also called Long Beach, is the main beach on Koh Chang in Ranong: a gently curving stretch of around 3 km on the west coast, lined with casuarinas, palms and simple bungalows. The sand is streaked with dark mineral grains and the water is less clear than on many other Thai islands. It faces the sunset, and walking along the shore is easiest at low tide.
