About this beach
Ao Suan Yai is a long, curving beach on the northwest coast of Koh Mak, fringed by coconut palms, with fine white sand that shelves gently into the sea. It looks west towards the islets of Koh Kham and Koh Phi and is known as a sunset spot. A pier used by speedboats from the mainland stands on the beach, and resorts and restaurants occupy part of the shore.
