Wreck Beach

Wreck Beach lies near Moonlight Head on the wild Southern Ocean coast of Great Otway National Park, along the Great Ocean Walk. Reaching the shore requires a 4.5-kilometre gravel approach followed by about 366 steps, with the anchors of the Marie Gabrielle and Fiji shipwrecks as the distinctive highlights. This is a place for coastal walking, rock-led ge exploration and maritime history rather than swimming. High tide and large swell can make the shoreline dangerous or impassable, so visits should be planned around low tide and calm conditions.
