Gibson Beach
Gibson Beach is a sandy, open-ocean shore beneath towering limestone cliffs on Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, within the Port Campbell National Park landscape. Visitors reach the beach from the Gibson Steps car park and lookout by descending an 86-step staircase, so the return climb requires care and reasonable fitness. The offshore Gog and Magog stacks can be seen from the sand when tide and sea conditions allow. Because the beach faces the Southern Ocean, swell, currents, tides and cliff hazards can vary, so visitors should follow signs and observe conditions closely.
