Southcombe Beach

Southcombe Beach lies on the southern coast of Port Fairy, facing the Southern Ocean. Steps and paths from the Ocean Drive area lead to a quiet sandy shore west of Griffiths Island, where shallow water, basalt formations and nearby rock pools add interest beyond a simple swim. The beach is a good choice for a coastal walk, gentle wading and exploring the rugged shoreline. Wind, waves and tides can change, so anyone entering the water should take local conditions seriously and supervise children closely.
