Whale Beach

Whale Beach is an east-facing, roughly 600-metre sandy ocean beach in Sydney’s Northern Beaches, set between Little Head and Careel Head below steep, built-up slopes. Its northern end is known for the “Wedge”, while beach breaks along the shore attract experienced surfers when conditions line up. At the southern end, access from The Strand leads to a 25-metre ocean rock pool with toilets, change rooms, paid parking, barbecues and a playground. Shorebreak can be strong at times, so swimmers should assess conditions and their experience before entering.
