Great Mackerel Beach is an approximately 500-metre sandy beach on the north-western side of Pittwater, within Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. Visitors can arrive by ferry from Palm Beach Wharf or by boat, with walking approaches from the West Head and Resolute Beach direction. Surrounded by protected bushland, it has a quiet character suited to swimming, fishing and family picnics. The beach is unpatrolled, so visitors should assess conditions carefully and plan transport in advance.
