Waterhouse Beach

Waterhouse Beach forms part of the long, high-energy sandy coast beside Waterhouse Conservation Area in north-east Tasmania. Broad foredunes, lagoons and wetlands give the area a strongly natural character, while camping, surf fishing and other beach-based recreation are the main visitor pursuits. Facilities are basic, so visitors should be prepared to carry their own water, food and essentials. Some routes to the surf beach require four-wheel drive, and changing conditions and ocean exposure make access and swimming matters for careful planning.
