Ao Thong Ching is an east-facing bay in the Thong Nian area of Khanom, with about 1.3 km of white sand ending below Khao Thong Ching hill to the north. It is known for clear water, and a resort and a dirt track sit behind the shore. The Khanom River mouth and the power plant lie a few kilometres to the south-east; waves can build during the north-east monsoon.
