Gili Air's main beach stretches along the east coast facing Lombok, where most of the island's accommodation, restaurants and dive shops are found. Snorkelling is possible along the shore wherever the reef is healthy, and paddleboarding and kayaking are common. Spiny sea urchins live among the seagrass, so take care when wading in. There are no motor vehicles on the island.
