Tinderbox Beach

Tinderbox Beach is a small sandy pocket beach of about 100 metres, set into the rocky coast beside the D’Entrecasteaux Channel south of Hobart. Rock platforms and the nearby Tinderbox Marine Reserve create a rewarding setting for swimming, snorkelling, shore diving and kayaking. Reefs, kelp forests, seagrass and sandy seabed support a varied marine environment. Access is via Fergusson Avenue, with vehicles expected to use designated parking areas; shoreline erosion makes care around high tides and storm conditions especially appropriate.
