South Mission Beach

South Mission Beach forms the southern part of the long, sandy Mission Beach shoreline facing the Coral Sea, with Dunk Island offshore. It sits between the Wet Tropics rainforest and the Great Barrier Reef, creating a relaxed setting for beach walks, fishing, swimming and quiet coastal time. Foreshore facilities include a stinger-net swimming enclosure, boat ramp, toilets, informal parking, playgrounds, barbecues and shelters. Tropical marine conditions and seasonal stinger risks mean visitors should check local warnings before entering the water.
