Refuge Beach

Refuge Beach is a sandy, quiet coastal beach in the Recherche area of Tasmania’s remote south-west. Its wider setting is defined by wild shorelines, coves, forest and the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area, where walking, kayaking and boat-based exploration are major ways to experience the coast. No lifeguard supervision is indicated, so swimming should be considered carefully in relation to conditions and experience. South-west Tasmania can change rapidly from sunshine to strong wind and heavy rain, making preparation important.
