Planter Beach
Planter Beach occupies a remote sandy stretch of Tasmania’s far south-west coast between the mouth of Cockle Creek and Fishers Point. The approach is through Cockle Creek, the southernmost point in Tasmania reachable by road, with short walks and the gateway to the South Coast Track nearby. Historic traces connected with shore-based whaling and Pryat’s grave give the shoreline a distinctive cultural character. It is a quiet, lightly serviced setting where visitors should plan ahead and assess local coastal conditions.
