Palana Beach
Palana Beach is a broad white-sand beach on the northern coast of Flinders Island, facing Bass Strait and offering views towards Inner Sister Island. Active dunes rise behind the shore, reaching up to 50 metres and extending several kilometres inland, creating a distinctive landscape for walking and beachcombing. A signed track leads from the picnic area to the beach, where visitors can walk the shoreline or fish from the sand and rocks when conditions suit. Palana Beach is exposed to strong onshore winds and energetic surf, so coastal conditions should be assessed locally.
