- Surf spot
Maroochydore Beach is a broad sandy ocean beach on the Sunshine Coast, near the mouth of the Maroochy River. Its long shoreline is backed by foreshore parks, playgrounds, parking, public toilets and showers, with cafés, restaurants and takeaway venues nearby. Swimming and surfing are popular, but rips and tidal channels can occur near the river mouth and southern rocks. Visitors should check the conditions and use the patrolled, flagged area where available.
