Freshwater Beach is a broad sandy ocean beach in Sydney's Northern Beaches, north of Manly. It forms part of the Manly-Freshwater National and World Surfing Reserve and is used for swimming, surfing and bodyboarding, with an accessible beach wheelchair and nearby playground supporting day visits. Duke Kahanamoku's 1914 demonstration here became a landmark in Australia's surfing history. Open-water conditions can vary, so visitors should follow local warnings before entering the water.
