Coniston Beach
Coniston Beach occupies the southern part of Wollongong’s long sandy coastal frontage, beside Wollongong Golf Course and close to the urban centre. The public foreshore continues from Bank Street towards Port Kembla Harbour, and council designates this zone as a green off-leash beach for dogs. Open-coast waves and rip currents can vary, while some sections are unpatrolled, so swimmers should assess conditions carefully. Its sand and city access make it practical for walking, dog exercise and time by the sea.
