Coledale Beach

Coledale Beach is a roughly 400-metre sandy shoreline on Wollongong’s northern coast, close to Lawrence Hargrave Drive and framed by the Illawarra Escarpment. Cliffs to the north and broad rock platforms at either end give the beach a distinct, rugged setting, while Coledale Rock Pool sits beside its southern end. A beachfront reserve provides a picnic area, barbecue facilities, car parking and public toilets. The beach is patrolled in the warmer months and is recognised locally as a surf beach, so conditions should be checked before entering the water.
