About this beach
Samila Beach is Songkhla's best-known beach, a white-sand shore shaded by casuarina trees on the edge of the city. The Golden Mermaid statue, the symbol of the province, stands here near cat and mouse sculptures, while Ko Nu and Ko Maeo, the islands of a local legend, lie offshore. Benches, paths and plenty of food vendors make it a favourite for evening walks.
