Nam Khem Beach curves along the seafront of Ban Nam Khem, a fishing village north of Khao Lak that was among the places worst hit by the 2004 tsunami. The Ban Nam Khem Tsunami Memorial Park, where annual remembrance ceremonies are held, and a golden Buddha statue stand right beside the shore. Boats to Koh Kho Khao leave from the village.
