Khao Khad Beach, sometimes also called Panwa Beach, stretches for over a kilometre along the western shore of Cape Panwa, facing the white Big Buddha on Nakkerd Hill across Chalong Bay. Resorts, villas and a few beachfront eateries sit along the shore. Rock and dead coral cover the seabed and mangroves grow at either end, so it is better for an unhurried meal by the sea than for a swim.
