About this beach
Karon Beach is a broad, west-facing sweep of about 3 km of pale sand between Patong and Kata. The fine dry sand squeaks underfoot, most hotels sit across the beach road, and the quieter northern end borders a lakeside park. From May to October strong waves and rip currents are common, so red flags and local warnings must always be respected.
