Short Beach

Short Beach is a small, sheltered sandy shoreline along Marieville Esplanade in Sandy Bay. Together with Errol Flynn Reserve, it offers a playground, picnic and BBQ space, toilets and parking close to the beach. The waterfront is useful for walking, dog exercise, paddleboarding and kayaking; because it lies in the Derwent estuary, swimming decisions should take account of conditions on the day. Its proximity to central Hobart makes it a convenient local escape.
