Rokeby Beach

Rokeby Beach sits on Ralphs Bay beside the Derwent estuary, east of Hobart. Its western end is the only public access point, with a large gravel car park, an existing boat ramp and two informal tracks reaching sand level. The beach is valued locally for walking, sitting, water views and launching small craft, and it is a recognised start or finish point for kayak routes around Ralphs Bay. Shoreline character varies from small sandy and pebble sections to actively eroding sediment banks, so tides, wind and unstable edges deserve attention.
