Reids Beach

Reids Beach occupies the western shore of Okehampton Bay, a shallow south-facing bay opening into Mercury Passage on Tasmania’s east coast. Maria Island provides some shelter, but ocean swell can still enter from the east and affect conditions along the shore. The sandy beach has a quiet, lightly developed character suited to coastal walking, shoreline exploring and carefully judged water activities. Facilities and regular supervision are not established here, so visitors should assess access, tide, wind and swell before entering the water.
